The Montgomery County Historic Society, with the assistance of Shara and Judia Green, has begun archiving dozens of unrecorded plots at Oakwood Cemetery. We believe this project is vital to Montgomery's history, and we're eager to uncover more about the records.
We are hosting our Annual Meeting of the Membership of the Montgomery County Historical Society on 14 June 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Figh-Pickett-Barnes School House. Our speaker will be Rev. Gary Burton of the Pintlala Baptist Church. Rev. Burton is an outstanding Alabama Historian, particularly regarding South Montgomery County.
